About Halo RPG
It’s the 26th century and humanity has colonized many worlds beyond the Sol System. Humanity first left the Sol System in 2291 with the use of the Shaw-Fujikawa engine, starting a new golden age for humanity fueled with excitement and optimism. Humanity prospered with colonization, technological development, and of prosperity and growth. The result of the colonization of multiples worlds created two different parts of human space: The Inner Colonies, industrialized and important to the UEG and the Outer Colonies, less industrialized and untrusting of the UEG's (United Earth Government) jurisdiction over the colonies with how they were neglected. However, the golden age for humanity wouldn't last forever. The disparity in wealth between the prosperous Inner Colonies and the heavily taxed, neglected Outer Colonies resulted in rising discontent and open revolt by the late 25th century. As an answer to the Insurrection, in 2491, the UNSC (United Nations Space Command) created Project ORION, creating chemically and physically enhanced super soldiers known as "Spartans". Project ORION resulted in the continuation of the project, now named the Spartan II Project, started in 2517 as the UNSC still required a solution to curb the Insurrection and possibility of a large-scale civil war. Dr. Catherine Halsey, the person in charge of the program, redesigned the initiative to use kidnapped young children for better augmentation success, aiming for soldiers with superior strength and loyalty, rather than augmenting adult volunteers as in the failed first program. A few years later in the 2520's (2525), humanity encountered the alien theocracy known as the Covenant who worship ring like worlds called Halo built by an ancient race called the Forerunners who they worship with the goal of driving Humanity to extinction.
